About TypeAnySymbol.com

TypeAnySymbol.com exists to do one thing well: help you find any symbol, copy it in a tap, and learn how to type it yourself on Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android, Chromebook, Word, Excel, Google Docs, and the web.

Most symbol sites stop at “click to copy.” We go further: every symbol comes with its real keyboard method — the Windows Alt code, the Mac shortcut, the Word trick, the HTML entity — so next time, you won’t even need us.

How we test (and why you can trust the shortcuts)

Typing guides are only useful if they actually work, so we hold every page to the same standard:

  • We test on real devices — Windows 11, macOS, iOS, Android, and ChromeOS — not just one machine.
  • Every code is verified against the Unicode Standard — code points, HTML entities, and Alt codes are derived from the official character data, not copied by hand.
  • We show a visible “last updated” date on our guides, and we revisit them as operating systems and apps change.
  • We say when a method is finicky — for example, when a Mac has no built-in shortcut and you need the Character Viewer, or when an Alt code needs a numeric keypad. No pretending.

If you ever find a shortcut that doesn’t work on your setup, tell us — we fix it.

Who’s behind it

I’m Igor, and I’ve spent more than 20 years around computers — writing, teaching, and working across languages. That mix is the whole reason this site exists: I’ve typed and explained more accents, math symbols, and currency signs than I can count, and I got tired of hunting for the same characters across a dozen messy, ad-choked websites.

I built TypeAnySymbol to be the opposite of that — one clean place to copy any symbol and actually learn how to type it yourself. Every shortcut here is one I’ve tested, because a guide that doesn’t work isn’t worth publishing.

What makes us different

  • Tools that teach, not just copy. Every symbol carries its Windows, Mac, and HTML method inline.
  • Organized, not a pile. Symbols live in clear categories: Math, Currency, Arrows, Punctuation, and more. Each category comes with its own guide.
  • Accurate and current. Real testing, Unicode sourcing, and dates you can see.
  • No clutter. Fast, clean pages that work on your phone.
