How to type them
Type currency symbols on any device
Windows
Common signs have Alt codes — Alt + 0163 = £, Alt + 0128 = €, Alt + 0165 = ¥, Alt + 0162 = ¢. For the rest (₹, ₿, ₩…), type the Unicode hex then Alt + X in Word (e.g. 20B9 for ₹).
Mac
⌥3 = £, ⇧⌥2 = €, ⌥4 = ¢, ⌥Y = ¥. For others, enable Unicode Hex Input and type Option + the hex, or open the Character Viewer (Ctrl + Cmd + Space).
Phones
On the symbols keyboard, press and hold the $ key to reveal £ € ¥ ¢ and slide to the one you want.
Spreadsheets & the web
