How to type them
Type Greek letters on any device
Word (best for Greek)
Type the Unicode hex then Alt + X — 03B1 → α, 03C0 → π, 03A9 → Ω. In an equation (Alt + =) you can type names like \alpha, \pi, \Omega.
Windows
There’s no Alt code for most Greek letters, so use the Word hex → Alt + X method, or copy from the keyboard above. The micro sign µ (Alt + 0181) is a common exception.
Mac
A few are on Option shortcuts — ⌥P = π, ⌥W = ∑, ⌥Z = Ω, ⌥M = µ. For the full alphabet, add a Greek keyboard in System Settings or use the Character Viewer.
